ABOUT

Welcome to Tall Pine Retreat, built in 1964, on over two acres of woodland, this retreat has been owned by one family and has been passed down generation to generation. A family home that was once an "A-Frame," has had two additions and has had many recent renovations and modern upgrades while at the same time keeping the cozy cottage feeling.

This beautiful home is secluded in the deep woods of Fish Creek. Our home has 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and 7 bed's allowing us to sleep up to 10 guests.

Sleep away from the hustle and bustle of 'downtown' Fish Creek, in our quiet cottage located walking distance from Peninsula State Park, as well as downtown Fish Creek. Build a campfire in the fire pit and roast some marshmallows until late in the evening. Whatever your pleasure, our cottage offers privacy, peace and relaxation.

The Master Bedroom is located up the spiral staircase on the second floor. The Master and second "Peak Bedroom" shares a full bathroom (renovated spring of 2022) with a tub. Located off the living room are two bedrooms. A large bedroom "The Twin Bedroom" has a twin bed as well as a full size bed and makes a perfect retreat for adults or kids with enough space to have their own play area. The second "Queen Bedroom" features a queen size bed. A full bathroom (renovated winter of 2020) with a shower, washer and dryer is on the first floor. All towels and linens are provided.

The Kitchen comes with the basics; pots and pans, silverware, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, microwave and an electric oven/range. Basically stated, the necessities to make a few home cooked meals but nothing you'll be seeing on the Food Network (ha-ha). Outside we have a basic propane Weber grill, located on the porch, in case you want bar-b-que. This grill has a natural gas hookup so you will never have to worry about not having enough propane.

An new outdoor patio (added spring of 2022) with a firepit, relaxing lighting, and Adirondack chairs makes for a great evening of laughing, telling stories, jokes, and of course making SMORES!!!

The central location of the cottage makes a great home base for day trips to Ephraim (4 miles), Egg Harbor (7 Miles), Baileys Harbor (8 miles), and Sister Bay (8 miles). It also provides a great location for touring Door County on Bicycle.

If water sports and boating are calling you to Door County, we have plenty of room to park most boat trailers. Again, our central location makes for short trips to public access ramps.

History and Culture

Door County has a rich history on water and land. The peninsula is steeped in the stories of the first people to arrive here, including Native Americans and European settlers who fell in love with the beauty and natural bounty of the county.

While the community has evolved tremendously in the decades since it first attracted tourists in the late 1800s, the traditions of those early settlers are still celebrated and witnessed in communities throughout Door County.

Whether you’re an angler, a sailor, a paddler, a devout canoeist, or a family looking to get its feet wet for the first time, Door County has a way to get you on the waters surrounding the peninsula and its 34 islands. Nearly 300 miles of Door County shoreline mean the opportunities to get on the water are endless. Most of the county’s waterfront towns and villages offer docks and marinas with public slips or places to rent a boat.

GUEST REVIEW

Quote

Wow. Kevin and Michelle are amazing hosts, they communicated about everything at the cabin, around the area, and were always quick with responses about any questions I had. I was blown away by the cabin, both the cleanliness and the woods it's surrounded by. You seriously won't be disappointed booking this cute place! It's spacious and even without AC, stays cool under the trees and with all the house fans. Just perfect.
